If you want to be close to many dining and nightlife options, South Beach is for you. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded area, choose the North, East or West.

There is a lot of traffic on the road around Lake Tahoe in the summer, so I’ll point out the places you really want to visit to help you decide where to stay.

It is very common to be in South Lake Tahoe during the summer, and that is what I am focusing on in this post.

There are so many great hotels and vacation rentals to choose from! Be sure to book in advance as things move quickly during the popular summer months.

I’ve heard great things about Coachman Hotel! This beautiful hotel is located on the California-Nevada border in South Lake Tahoe, a 5-minute walk from Lakeside Beach.

How To Spend Two Days In South Lake Tahoe

There are many great VRBOs to choose from in Tahoe. If you’re looking for an affordable option for a large group, look no further than this amazing home. I rented this house last year for my birthday with 15 people and it was amazing! There are many games: pool table, air hockey, foosball, volleyball net, ping pong table, shuffleboard – you will always have fun! It has a large backyard and backyard.

In general, I recommend not going too far from where you live when visiting Lake Tahoe in the summer, as the traffic can be heavy, but the paddling area on this lake is worth it. Make sure to leave early in the morning to beat the traffic, avoid the crowds and find a parking spot!

Best Things To Do In Lake Tahoe In Summer

Helpful tip: Instead of renting a paddle board, buy a paddle board to take with you! I hope you will use it again after this trip. I bought this and this. Everything worked great, easy to fold and fits perfectly in the bag for easy transport!

This is one of the most popular places to visit, but for good reason! It is absolutely beautiful. You can drive and pay to park near the beach. If you go on the weekend, make sure you arrive early. The parking lot can fill up about 30 minutes after opening at 7am!

You can rent a paddle board or kayak from Sand Harbor Rentals, which is located at the boat ramp north of the park. Take time to paddle board, and walk along the boardwalk to see the different sights!

Just 5 minutes south of Sand Harbor and Secret Cove. Parking is limited here – make sure you get there early! Take the trail for half a mile and you will reach the summit. This is also a nudist beach. The water is very clear and blue, and there are many large rocks out of the water for people to swim or jump off! It is a quiet place with a beautiful view.

One of the best things to do in Lake Tahoe this summer with a group of friends is to go on a Lake Tahoe tiki boat! This was one of the highlights of my trip. It was so exciting! Boats depart from Tahoe Keys Marina (South Lake Tahoe). I recommend booking for at least four hours. The pilot will take you to Emerald Bay and a few other spots before sailing on a beautiful beach with clear, bright blue water! You can dive into the water from above (or use the water slide!), float and relax in a most amazing place. The boat has lots of floats for you to use and there is even a mixer to make cool drinks! You can connect to their Bluetooth stereo to play music. The attendants are very friendly and helpful and will refresh your drink as needed. This is interesting.

Of course, one of the most fun things to do in Lake Tahoe in the summer is hang out on the beach! There are many beaches to choose from, however, for convenience/convenience, I recommend going to the beach closest to where you live. Otherwise you risk getting stuck in traffic or fighting traffic, which is not a great way to start a day at the beach!

There is so much to do outdoors and I love the diversity of Lake Tahoe.
