Most of these free activities in Denver are available year-round, with the exception of a few during snow, such as high-altitude snowshoeing. Many are within walking distance of downtown Denver or within affordable public transportation.
Some of these bucket-list attractions are outside the city, while others are within a day’s drive of Denver. So get ready for an adventure and get ready for some mile-high fun.
With sweeping views of Denver and recognition as one of the best concert venues in the world, the Red Mountains Amphitheater is a true wonder of Mother Nature. Two sandstone monoliths – Ship Rock and Creative Rock – the amphitheater hosted the world’s biggest rock stars.

While exploring Red Rocks, it would be rude not to visit the nearby Colorado Music Hall. Located in the Red Hills Amphitheater Visitor Center, CMHOF educates visitors about the incredible musicians who have helped shape Denver’s music scene.
Admission is free (although donations are accepted) and the museum is open daily (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm and during shows from 9 am to 7 pm.

You can run, bike or walk any part of the trail, enjoying the changing scenery and terrain along the way. In between, it crosses Cherry Creek Reservoir. Cherry Creek joins the South Platte at Denver Confluence Park in LoDo. This is a popular summer park.
The most interesting thing about this mall isn’t even the shops; Right, the red, gray and white granite patterned pedestrian lane looks like a diamond ring from above. In addition to its stunning design, the 16th Street Mall is a great place to people-watch, especially after dark when the twinkling fairy lights are lit and the street trees glow.
Horse-drawn carriages take people for a ride. Only city buses and police cars ply 16th Street. You can also see the D&F tower, almost a replica of the campanile of St. Mark is in Venice to touch Italy in Denver.
There’s also a free shuttle bus called MallRide that goes up and down the 16th Street Mall, making exploring easy.

You don’t have to go out into the desert to see wildlife in Colorado; In the heart of the city is the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Sanctuary, a 15,000-acre wildlife preserve where you’ll see white-tailed deer, bison, bull, bald eagles, raptors and hawks, not to mention the dazzling sunsets.
The refuge is open daily from sunrise to sunset, and during the summer months the skies are home to an abundance of wildlife, from white pelicans and hollow-nesting nesters to raptors to frogs, painted turtles and fish. . The marshes and meadows are full of wild flowers.

Although not in Denver, Bierstadt is considered a great 14th place for beginners because it’s so close to the city. So if you’re in town, have reasonable fitness, and are well-equipped for a challenging but technical hike, try climbing 14 for free. And feel the sense of pride and success that comes with it!
