London is not well known as a swimming destination. But when it’s summer in London, the city has a lot of opportunities to relax, and it’s a great way to spend a day in London.
Every summer, Buckingham Palace is open to the public for one season and one time only. Last year I got the chance to visit it myself (especially the garden) and it was well worth it.
Nightlife in London is great at any time of the year. But there’s nothing better than a drink on a hot London day, especially in a pub by the river. Who is playing in the summer?
Okay, this is actually a bit biased (and in the same spirit, totally correct), but I’ve found that London is generally a friendlier place in the summer. Yes, there’s science to back it up, but the sun does reveal a level of happiness for people – including Londoners!

As you spend the summer anywhere in Europe, a good sundress is essential (especially if you’re taking grammy photos).

Of course, one of the biggest benefits of coming to London in the summer is all the swimming opportunities. Hampstead Heath Pool, London Fields Lido, Richmond Pools in the Park, Serpentine Lido and Hill Hill Lido are great swimming spots.

There’s nothing better than spending a sunny day at Kew Gardens. With over 500 hectares of award-winning landscaped gardens, you can spend a sunny day here.
Plus, there’s always a new show going on, so even if you’ve been there before, there’s always something new to see.
Start by getting off at Hampstead station, grab a coffee and wander around town, have a pint alfresco at Holly Bush and visit the Hill Garden & Pergola, then walk Hampstead Heath and consider a dip in Hampstead Pond. It’s your whole day!
A picnic anywhere in London’s green spaces is great, but there’s something special about a picnic on Primrose Hill.
What To Do In London In Summer 2020
You can grab food from the shops at Primrose Hill or Camden Market and walk away (15-20 minute walk), or Sainsbury’s is also nearby.
