A rafting trip from Pacuare Lodge is one you will never forget. It takes about 3 hours to reach Sikirres by private transfer, the highest difficulty level III, including lunch across the river. I won’t spoil it, but prepare for a shocking scene at the end of this paddle.

Domestic Terminal SJO: Arrival at Pacuar Lodge requires a car from San Jose (6:00 am), professional and bilingual guides, typical Costa Rican breakfast, arrival or departure with river rafting or a choice of 4×4 transport. Rafting equipment, meals, accommodation and travel to San Jose (arrive at 18:00) are all included. If you go the other way, they will meet you east of the river Sikirres. Rafting from Tres Equis to Pacuar Lodge, this route takes one hour and is level II difficult. Rafting to Sikirres, this route lasts three hours and is level III difficult with the possibility of quickly reaching level IV.
Costa Rica has two good seasons; dry season from December to April, rainy season or green season from May to November. However, it usually rains in the afternoon or evening. During the dry season, you can expect more sun and less heat, but exploring the jungle can be dry and hot. In the rain, you’ll find faster speeds, less sun and smoother roads. The minimum age limit for children at Pakwar Lodge is 7 years. However, the minimum age to enter or leave the home is 12 years. For families with children aged 7-11 who wish to stay with us, we can arrange ground transportation to avoid rafting, but trips may be reduced for children aged 7, please see our activity booklet. -11.
